Blogs and Social Media

Description

cto-blog-screen-thumb.jpgWe run a bunch of weblogs (“blogs”).

Status

We currently support these blogs:

  • OneVillage Foundation;
  • The Foundation’s CTO blog, which is the CTO’s personal blog dealing with technical problems of serving up peace and ethics worldwide;
  • A private “circles” blog that’s used to communicate with Study Circle coordinators;
  • A DLF—Canada blog which is integrated into a page on the DLF site;
  • A new “green farming and energy” blog run by OVF.
  • And the Project Happiness blog where teachers and students chronicle their participation in this important project.

Priorities and Prognosis

We need to promote our blogs a bit more, though oneVillage is doing quite well, blogging a lot, and generating significant traffic. The CTO’s blog has gotten quite a bit more active since AirJaldi, and is remaining active at this new increased level. The Project Happiness blog was only recently created, but should be quite active over the next few months. Because blogs are constantly changing, they can be great opportunities for online promotion and conversation. We recently talked about adding our blogs to our main DLF web presence – the challenge is to find a good way to do this on an already “chock full” site!
